Indian Engagement Party |GRWM

Hey!

IMG_5900

Yesterday we had an Indian function for my cousin who just announced his engagement.

And of course, just like any other Indian function, a great excuse to glam up for the day! I wanted to show you guys my outfit of the day 🙂

So I decided to go for this beautiful royal blue outfit which is from Venisons in Wembley, London. It’s simple but elegant and quite ‘dress like’ so you don’t really need to wear it with the traditional “chundri” like most other anarkali outfits.

It has some gorgeous gold embellishments at the top and a netted layer on the bottom. This really gives that extra sparkle to the outfit – a must for every indian outfit imo haha!

The bottom is also a very unique style with an asymmetrical netted layer and some gold material from the layer behind, peeping through from underneath.

This outfit is also great for an evening look and can be paired with a nice pair of gold sparkly heels to finish it off. I opted for a sensible pair of gold, flat sandals (of course with some silver diamantes :P) this time as I knew there’d quite a bit of running around to do – and i’m so glad I chose flats haha!

Wedding season is upon us – have you guys been getting glam recently? It would be lovely to see or hear about your outfits in the comments 🙂

Family day out at Kew Gardens

Hey!

Today my faIMG_7362mily and I went to Kew Gardens for the Full of Spice Festival. It was such a nice family trip and something that my mum and aunties enjoyed too, intrigued to find out more about IMG_3408spices.

We travelled to Kew by train and had booked the 13:40 rickshaw ride to escort us around the gardens. The guides were so enthusiastic and the rickshaw’s were so cutely decorated with embellishments from India.

Each of the rickshaw’s had a different spice associated with it – ours was black pepper which was quite fascinating to learn more about, although I was silently hoping for cinnamon (my fave!)! Obvs had to take that obligatory selfie! 😛

We tasted and smelt three types of pepper – black, green and white, astonished by the difference in taste and smell of them all! It was really cool! We even saw peppercorn plants and learnt that they mainly grow in Kerala, South India.

We saw some gorgeous flowers as well as chilli plants growing purple coloured chillies!

Heading over to the Dough Kitchen, we baked some Finnish cinnamon rolls – ‘Korvapuusti’. Here’s a few photos of my cousins and I preparing them!
